At Bourbon Match, we are committed to safeguarding your personal privacy. We compile only minimal information specifically necessary to deliver high-quality, high-performance whiskey tracking tools. This Privacy Policy outlines our guidelines for parsing, protecting, and managing your user data.

1. DATA WE COLLECT & PROCESS

* **Core Registration Information:** When you build your profile, we collect your email address, chosen username, password (which is securely hashed on our servers), and birth date (solely to confirm your legal age status).

* **Scan Imagery ("Bottle Analysis"):** Images captured or uploaded through your camera for label analysis are transmitted securely for real-time item matching. To respect your household privacy, we do not store background photos of your home, cabinets, or liquor rooms on our persistent database servers. The imagery is evaluated as raw input files, after which only the resulting text matching metrics and bottle names are cataloged.

* **Inventory ("Vault") Contents:** We store metadata including your logged whiskey list, purchase prices, bottle notes, dates cataloged, and collection worth statistics to show you your dashboard.

* **Device & Local Storage Data:** As a Progressive Web App (PWA), we utilize browser local storage, cookies, and secure session tokens to keep you securely logged in, authenticate database requests, and ensure your collection is accessible offline.

2. HOW WE USE AND VALUE YOUR DATA

We utilize your information to customize your experience and support our ecosystem in the following ways:

* **Fulfillment of Service:** To securely load your private bourbon collection dashboard across all dev/live devices.

* **Analytical & Market Research (Anonymized & Aggregated):** We compile anonymous, non-personally identifiable usage statistics—such as regional brand preferences, purchase price fluctuations versus MSRP, bottle velocity metrics, and scanning trends. We may aggregate this anonymized data to produce industry-wide market research and consumer sentiment reports for our distillery partners. Absolutely no identifying user records, private credentials, or personally identifiable information (PII) are ever included or shared in this research.

* **Secure Payment Processing:** Subscription billing is securely processed by Paddle, our global Merchant of Record. Bourbon Match does not directly handle, process, or store your complete debit/credit card details.

3. AGE LIMITATION & ELIGIBILITY

Our services are strictly intended for individuals who are of legal drinking age in their respective jurisdictions (21 years of age or older in the United States). We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or process personal data from individuals under the legal age limit. If we discover that an underage individual has created an account, it will be terminated immediately.

4. SECURITY AND VAULT PRIVACY

Your collection data is private to your registered account. We enforce database authentication rules matching your unique, verified User ID (UID). All connection channels transmitting scanned materials utilize standard HTTPS/SSL encryption protocols to protect data in transit.

5. DATA RETENTION & REMOVAL RIGHTS

You retain absolute custody of your account profile. You can query, edit, or request complete removal of your records directly. Should you terminate or permanently delete your account profile:

* Your email registration and username are scrubbed from our systems.

* Your associated collection vault records are wiped from database storage.

* Any general, anonymized scan metadata or historical collection statistics remain strictly disconnected from your identity.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your experience on Bourbon Match. Because our platform provides instantly unlocked digital features, premium vault tracking, and cloud-assisted AI scans, we operate under the following refund and cancellation standards:

1. EVALUATE BEFORE YOU UPGRADE

Bourbon Match provides accessible starting tiers for standard inventory tracking. We highly encourage users to explore our general device camera recognition, catalog indexes, and matching mechanisms prior to committing to a premium, paid subscription plan. 

2. SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION & ACCESS

You have complete control over your subscription. You may cancel your paid premium plan at any time:

* **How to Cancel:** Cancellations can be processed directly within your app Profile configuration settings, or via the subscription management link found in your original email receipt.

* **Access Post-Cancellation:** Following cancellation, you will retain full access to all premium features until the conclusion of your current active billing cycle. 

* **Transition to Free Tier:** At the end of that cycle, your account will gracefully transition to our basic entry tier. You will not lose your historical collection records, and no further automatic billing cycles will occur. We do not provide partial or pro-rated refunds for unused time within a billing cycle.

3. REFUND POLICY

Except as required by applicable local consumer protection laws, all recurring subscription charges are **non-refundable**. 

* **Exceptional Circumstances:** If you experience unique billing anomalies (such as technical system duplication errors, accidental dual purchases, or unauthorized account access), please contact our billing support desk within fourteen (14) days of the disputed transaction. 

* **Discretionary Review:** Bourbon Match reserves the right to evaluate these exceptional incidents on a case-by-case basis. Approved corrections or refunds will be issued back to the original payment method used during checkout.

4. MERCHANT OF RECORD DISCLOSURE

Our order process and subscription billing are managed and securely executed by Paddle, our global Merchant of Record. Paddle is the legal merchant of record for all our software transactions and handles global payment compliance, regional sales taxes, and customer billing support.  Taxes may apply and will be calculated at checkout.

Welcome to Bourbon Match (referred to as the "Service", "App", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our mobile and web applications, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), databases, matching algorithms, features, and overall services. By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. AGE REQUIREMENT & COVENANT

**You must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age** (or the legal legal drinking age in your country, state, or province of residence) to register an account, perform camera scans, or utilize the Service.

By creating an account, you represent, warrant, and covenant that:

* You are of legal purchase age for alcohol beverage products in your jurisdiction.

* All registration information you submit is truthful and accurate.

* Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or local regulation.

2. INTENDED FUNCTIONALITY & DISCLOSURES

Bourbon Match is an informational whiskey collection cataloging, camera-assisted scanning, and tracking platform.

* **Informational & Educational Resource:** All information provided—including distiller profiles, tasting notes, and proof levels—is compiled for general personal inventory logging and entertainment purposes. We do not promote excessive, underage, or irresponsible alcohol consumption.

* **AI-Generated Estimates Disclaimer:** The Service utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence and machine-learning models to identify whiskey labels and provide secondary market values or Manufacturer Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP). You acknowledge that these values are strictly non-binding estimates. They do not constitute financial advice, formal appraisal values, nor a guaranteed pricing offer of physical assets.

* **Alcohol Sales & Facilitated Actions:** The Service does not sell, ship, buy, distribute, or broker physical beverages or alcohol transactions.

3. BILLING, PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS, AND MERCHANT OF RECORD

* **Account Tiers:** We offer standard accessibility alongside a paid subscription tier ("PAID Tier" / "Premium Vault") which unlocks expanded limits, historical logging metrics, and specialized insights.

* **Merchant of Record:** All order processing, billing, and subscription management are securely executed by Paddle, our global Merchant of Record. By subscribing to a paid plan, you acknowledge and agree to abide by Paddle’s checkout terms and conditions.

* **Billing and Auto-Renewal:** Paid subscription cycles are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis, depending on your selected plan. Unless canceled prior to the next billing date via your app profile or your original Paddle receipt link, your subscription will automatically renew under identical rates.

 4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & PROPRIETARY RIGHTS

The Service, including its user interface, design aesthetics, source code, data parsing mechanisms, " Bourbon DNA” matching algorithms, and "Molecular Flavor Bridge “ architectures, is the exclusive proprietary property of Bourbon Match. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any unauthorized duplication, reverse engineering, or modification of our matching engines is strictly prohibited.

5. DATA UTILITY, PRIVACY, AND COMMERCIALIZATION RIGHTS

* **User Inventory ("Vault") Data:** While we respect that your logged inventory is cataloged for your private convenience, by using our Service you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, map, and process your cataloged item names solely for the execution, fulfillment, and optimization of the Service.

* **Anonymized Commercialization & Industry Reporting:** We anonymously aggregate user behavior trends, collection metrics, velocity tracking data, regional brand preferences, and retail pricing differentials. You explicitly grant us the right to compile, analyze, and commercialize these anonymized, non-personally identifiable datasets for market research and consumer sentiment reporting for our distillery partners. Your individual profile identity, email, and credentials are never attached, included, or exposed in this industry research.

6. PROHIBITED USES & INFRASTRUCTURE INTEGRITY

You agree not to engage in any activity that harms, disables, or overburdens our database infrastructure. You are strictly forbidden from:

* Submitting fraudulent, malicious, or illegal images to the label-scanning models.

* Utilizing automated systems, "web scrapers," APIs, or spiders to crawl, mine, or harvest catalog data.

* Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with security-related controls or Firebase authentication rules.

* Attempting to bypass volume or data limits established on standard, free, or trial accounts.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & WARRANTY DISCLAIMER

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. BOURBON MATCH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, OUTRIGHT OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MARKETABILITY, ACCURACY, AND QUALITY FOR A PARTICULAR REASON.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE COMPILATION, RECOGNITION ACCURACY, DATA SELECTION, OR LACK OF ACCURACY OF ESTIMATES RENDERED VIA OUR AI ARCHITECTURES, REPLACEMENT VALUATIONS, OR USER INSURANCE CALCULATIONS.

8. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

These Terms of Use and any disputes arising from your use of the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the **State of Tennessee, United States**, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You explicitly agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in **Nashville, Tennessee**.
